Welcome to STEAM Club

On the 15th and 17th of February, we held a Welcome to STEAM Club launch at lunchtimes. It was great to see so many students visiting to find out what we do and sign up. We are doing lots of great projects and competitions this year. Please come a long on Tuesday or Thursday lunchtimes of you are interested.

Upcoming STEAM Opportunities

Inspiring STEM + 

This is a joint program with Laing O’Rourke Construction Engineers, and we have a few spots left for interested Year 9 and 10 students, The program operates once per term for 2-3 hours after school and involves looking at different aspects of engineering and involves site visits, work experience opportunities and possible internships. Academy for Enterprising Girls – 25th May

Got an amazing idea but don’t know what to do with it? Come along and learn the best strategies to turn your ideas into reality. This is a full day workshop open to all year levels that introduces you to design thinking and entrepreneurship. It is held at school and is free to attend. Please email Mrs Keen if you would like to sign up.

It Takes a SPARK Conference – 4th May

This is a full-day conference open to students in Years 7-10. It has a range of great sessions for students and teachers and some amazing keynote speakers. Thanks to a Federal Government Grant, this event will be free for students. If you would like to come along on the day, please email Mrs Keen. The spots are limited. DiscoverSTEMM

In late 2021, my friend Cherry and I started DiscoverSTEMM, an organization that makes exploring STEMM (science, tech, engineering, medicine, math) easier for students. Since we started in November last year, we have had over 120 students from 20 schools join the DiscoverSTEMM community.

It is completely free, and you get all the STEMM resources at your fingertips (Cherry and I have curated a great list). Also, every month, we share a newsletter with our members which highlights a famous STEMM figure.
