Term 1 Reports

Term 1 has been a very busy term and we are very proud of how students have gone about their learning, engagement and assessment tasks this term amongst the ongoing health concerns we have all faced. It has been fantastic to have a full term at school and been able to enjoy all the wonderful things that we have missed about students at school for a whole term.

Junior Interschool Sport / Fair Go Sports Athletics Carnival

Many Junior teams have recently represented Reservoir High School in interschool sporting competitions throughout Term 1 including many students swimming in the District Swimming competition, Cricket, Volleyball and Tennis. Of note, congratulations to our Year 7 girls Volleyball team who won the Darebin Division and our Yr 7 boys Volleyball team who won the Darebin Division two years in a row. We look forward to the next Volleyball rounds in Term 4.

Congratulations to all Junior Students who participated in our Fair Go Sports Athletics Carnival recently. It was fantastic to see so many students dressing up in house colours or multiple colours and supporting the cause of inclusiveness for all. Well done to all students who competed to the best of their ability or simply cheered and encouraged their peers. Another fantastic Fair Go Sports Day celebrated by the whole school community. The Athletics team will now be selected to compete in the Darebin Athletics Carnival mid way through Term 2.

Year 7 Peer Support

All Year 7’s have been participating in our Peer Support Program during Health classes in Term 1. The students have been very fortunate to have a very committed group of Year 10 Peer Support Leaders assist them with positive transition experiences and relationship building activities with each other. The Year 7’s have really enjoyed the opportunity to be mentored by our Yr 10’s and the Junior school would like to thank all of these Yr 10 Peer Support Leaders for their fantastic efforts and leadership to our Year 7 students.

Lunchtime Clubs

It has been terrific to see so many Junior students involved in clubs around the school each lunchtime. Students are reminded that the Lunchtime Clubs program has been up and running since the start of Term 1 and all students have the opportunity to participate in them. The schedule is located on the Junior School Notice board in F Block and on compass. See the Yr 7 & 8 TEAMS page for the program as well.

Grade 5 Day – Student Leaders

Reservoir High School hosted over three hundred Grade 5 students on Friday 1 April who attended onsite and experienced Junior School classes and activities. The school extends a massive thankyou to those students who acted as student leaders and performers on the day. It is always a fantastic day and the Grade 5’s all had extremely positive experiences thanks to our current junior students and staff running classroom activities and performances.
