Principal's Post
Dear Parents,
The structures and pastoral care programs that are in place at Mazenod highlight the importance of students being personally known, cared for and respected as individuals. The aim is to assist boys to function well so that they can be resilient, positive, balanced, self-regulated, able to constructively face challenges and mentor others. Shifting the language and emphasis of what it means to be successful at Mazenod will assist in a broader understanding of achievement. Celebrating diverse achievements through publications, rituals, symbol and experience will go a long way to nurturing holistic learning opportunities and producing well-rounded individuals.
Today, Friday 25th February the College Community gathered at The Provence for our Inaugural Mass, to celebrate the start of the academic year. Our tradition of inducting the College Leaders on this auspicious occasion continues and the students were introduced to the congregation. Please see the list of Leaders in the From the Executive - Dean of Senior School page of this newsletter.
This week our Athletes competed in the ACC Athletics Carnival at Albert Park. Training and trials occurred over several weeks, including a very successful House Carnival to aid final selection of the team. The results will be forwarded in due course, but I would like to commend the students for their participation and upholding the ACC motto of “Excellence, Honour and Fairness”. We expect all students at the College to participate in such events, if they are capable, and we encourage and challenge students to work hard and excel. Thank you to all of the Athletic Coaches and staff who prepared the team for the event. Congratulations to all students who competed on Thursday.

STUDENT NEWS
We have received news that Dylan Peiris application to join the Vice Chancellor’s Ancora Imparo Leadership Programme has been accepted for the 2022 intake. Forty students are accepted each year to the flagship programme of Monash University. The programme is designed for selected students to gain an understanding of the visionary and inspirational principles that guide current leaders and have guided leaders of the past. Dylan’s acceptance into the programme is a great credit to him, his family and the College.
