Sport report

Congratulations to all students and staff on a successful swimming carnival held yesterday at Carnegie Pool. We had a lot of colour, loud chanting and positive vibes on the pool deck. Congratulations to all students and staff for yet another successful day on our school calendar. The overall results will be announced once it’s finalised so keep an eye out on the screens for this to be revealed.

Well done to our senior students who represented the college at the first Round Robin for the year last Friday. Thank you to our staff coaches – Mrs Mathews, Ms Sharpe and Ms Dixon for accompanying teams on the day. The smiles and chatter on the day were pleasing to see and of course the good sportsmanship displayed by all. Looking ahead we have the Intermediate Round Robin on Monday 24 February. Good luck to all players involved.

A reminder for all students that when out on Interschool sport representing the College that as per our mobile phone policy, phones should be in lockers prior to leaving for the day. At the conclusion of the day, they can be retrieved from your locket before you go home. If they are seen, they will be confiscated by the staff member in charge. Should you have any questions please either ask your PE teacher or come and see Ms Parker in the gym office.

Dodgeball - Students vs Staff

An annual feature events if the traditional lunchtime dodgeball match between Year 12 students and their teachers in their final days of secondary school. This year the event was brought forward so the senior students could interact with their teachers outside the classroom. We are also wanting to show our new Year 7s that we’re an open, friendly and inclusive school and give them the opportunity to interact with others from all year levels. It was a great success. Thank you to the teachers for being part of it.

Lawn Bowls

On Friday 14 February, seven of senior students went to Hampton Lawn Bowls Club to compete against other local schools in Lawn Bowls. With no experience apart from a 10 minute practice the lunchtime before, we were surprised that we were able to get a total of two ties and one win in total from our two teams.

We sweltered through the 31ºc day, gaining a nice tan (or burn), a well deserved icy pole and an idea of how we will be spending our retired lives!! Congratulations to Bianca Currie, Imogen Pulsford, Kimberley Horrigan, Laura White, Macayla Gregory, Monique Woolard and Sarah Wladysiuk on a fantastic day!
