In and out of the classroom

Warrigal greens

In Year 10 Food Technology our class is learning about in season foods and ways to be sustainable in the kitchen. Both of these create good impacts on the environment and help us to eat healthier food with the same great taste. We had the opportunity to practise this by picking Warrigal greens out of our very own garden to use in our chorizo and pumpkin frittata. Not only did this fresh ingredient add great flavour to our dish, but it was sustainable for the environment as well.

Year 9 Outdoor Education

On a glorious Monday afternoon the Year 9 Outdoor Education students had their first adventure experience with a stand-up paddle board lesson at Sandringham Beach. After an initial introduction they took to the water to explore. Over first semester they will also be kayaking, rock-climbing, orienteering, mountain bike riding and camping.

Dreamtime picture book competition

The Library is running  a Dreamtime competition for our students.

We ask them to read an indigenous picture book and draw a picture to depict their understanding of the content, or they can write a review. The objective is for the students to get a better awareness of Aboriginal culture and literature. The books are currently on display in the library.

The competition runs until Friday 28 February, with prizes to be won.
