Calrossy P & F
Over the holidays the P & F, with Calrossy’s support, have continued the upgrade of the playing surface of Goldsworthy Oval that commenced last year. As a result, the oval has been over-sown, taking many countless volunteer hours late into the nights and over weekends. Last week the first round of top dressing commenced and another 90 cubic meters is planned to be spread (thanks to support from TRC). There is another 150 cubic meters scheduled for September holidays.
As a result of this great work, we are in a delicate position with the newly planted seeds germinating and the stock pile of top dress. Unfortunately this means the Goldsworthy Oval is closed and out of bounds for all activities until the first stage of works have been completed - we will reassess in Week 5.
We understand the short term impact this will have to PDHPE, Sport and Rugby Training, but the investment is now over $50,000 and the results will mean we can play on our oval for many years to come. Short term pain will mean long-term gain.
Thank you to all of the volunteers that have been involved in this project your efforts and support are greatly appreciated by all of the students and staff.
