Netball – a reminder the 2021 Tamworth Netball Association Season starts this weekend Saturday the 24th April! To keep up to date with all Netball information please join the Netball Groups (Junior and Secondary) on the Hub. 

 

Hockey – Monday Night Hockey starts today for the U15 and U18 Boarder teams. If there are any Boarders who are yet to sign up but would like to play, please get in touch with Mrs Gallacher – all levels welcome!

Please note - Compulsory Hockey Training will commence next Tuesday 27th April 4:00pm – 5:00pm at the Hockey Fields. 

 

Basketball – Both primary and Secondary Basketball Competitions pick back up again this week. Please stay up to date with all Draws on the Basketball hub Pages.

Basketball Training for Years 7-8 will continue on Wednesday Lunchtimes in the William Cowper Gym. Please ensure you arrive promptly to maximise training time!

 

Primary School Rugby Competition – Unfortunately the Primary School Friday night Rugby Competition has been Cancelled by Rugby NSW – NSW Development Officer Garry Walsh: ‘Unfortunately we will not be in a position to conduct the Primary Schools Friday Competition in 2021. This was a difficult decision to make but the resources required to manage the competition with COVID restrictions still in place was impossible.’

 

School Holiday Sporting Achievements

Athletics National Championships – Congratulations to Abbie Peet who last week competed at the Athletics National Championships at Sydney Olympic Park. Abbie competed in the U15 Para 400m in which she placed 4th, 200m in which she placed 7th, 800m in which she placed 2nd and 1500m in which she not only placed 1st but now holds the Australian Record! Congratulations Abbie! 

 

Swimming National Championships – Continuing on our Sporting achievements these holidays we had the following students compete at the Swimming National Championships also at Sydney Olympic Park.

 

James Ryan - Competed in the 400m Individual Medley where he achieved an enormous PB of 4.96 sec & placed 13th, as well as competing in the 200m Breaststroke in which he came 21st overall.

 

Ella Fittler- Competed in the 100m Breaststroke and placed 34th and the 200m Breaststroke in which she placed 10th overall – Fantastic!

 

Amelia Simm – Competed in the 200m Individual Medley and placed 7th, the 100m Breaststroke and placed 5th, the 400 Individual Medley and placed 7th and finally the 200m Breaststroke and placed 6th.

    

Alex Hayes – Competed in the 100m Breaststroke and placed 9th and the 200m Breaststroke and placed 5th.
