Year 2/3/4 Last Supper

On Easter Thursday, after exploring the Easter Stories from the Bible, the students in Year 2/3/4 role played the Last Supper.

In the session prior to the role play, all students were involved in making  'Unleavened Bread'. The students were able to experience what 'Unleavened Bread' tasted like, as well as the differences between unleavened and leaven bread.

COVID SUCKED by Sylvie Keogh

2020 really sucked,

All we needed was some luck.

Covid going through the air,

Infecting people, everywhere.

Everyone in quarantine doing work online,

Everyone was really starting to whine.

The great toilet paper shortage of 2020,

This was a very tough time, for many.

Lots of people going crazy,

Though most of us were just getting lazy.

We couldn’t see our friends or go to school,

Covid was 100% not cool!

ANZAC DAY Reflections

Dear Returned Soldier,

My name is Bernice and I'm in Year 5 from Sacred Heart, Preston. I am ten years old and I am writing this letter to tell you that we read 'One Minute's Silence' in class. I learnt a lot about ANZAC Day, like all the soldiers who died in World War 1 and World war 2.

Anzac Day is around the corner and I'd like to thank you all for being so brave for us all.

From BerniceDear Pa,

At school we learnt about Anzac Day. Grandma told me you were in the war. Did you go in the 1st world war? Thank you for everything you did for us.

From your grandson

Joshua

Dear Darebin RSL

My name is Lily and I am a Year 6 student from Sacred Heart, Preston.

In my classroom we all read about you and what happened in the war of 1915, when you and your fellow soldiers landed in Gallipoli. Our teacher said to us "put yourself in their shoes". And I couldn't wrap my head around how hard it was to watch people die and suffer and for you to suffer yourself.

But I do want to say how thankful I am of what you and your fellow soldiers did. Me, my family and my friends wouldn't be where we are today without your sacrifice for this family.

Thank you

Lily

Inter School Sports

This Friday the Grade 5/6s will be participating in their very first game of inter-school sport for 2021. Both netball and football teams are full of enthusiasm and positivity. This week we spent time taking part in practice sessions led by some of our great Grade 6s. Jakob and Sienna led the football team in various drills while Ankita and Anni did the same with the netball team. It was fantastic to see everyone cooperating as a team, communicating and encouraging each other.
