St Joseph's Feast Day Art

ST JOSEPH'S FEAST DAY ART
Last week the students from Prep to Year Six participated in a St Joseph’s Feast Day Art workshop.
We examined historical paintings of Saint Joseph and discussed the meaning behind the white Lilly featuring in so many art works. The Lilly represents ‘integrity’. We explored the meaning of this word as being trust worthy and having a strong moral compass. Here is an overview of the art activities I conducted with the levels.
Prep: Students used shapes to collage their own image of Saint Joseph.
Year Ones and Twos: Students used their hand prints to create paper lilies. They curled the paper with pencils and used pipe cleaners as stems.
Year Threes, Fours, Fives and Sixes: Students used black paper to create a silhouette image of Joseph or a Lilly. They also incorporated symbols of love, trust and integrity. Students then used contact paper and tissue paper to create a stain glass window with geometric patterns.
Enjoy the photographs.
