City School

Exploring Melbourne again

Our Year 9 City School Inquiry classes have been getting out and about in Melbourne over the last few weeks to explore the city and start gathering information for their research projects.

On Thursday the 11th of March, my City School class travelled into the city via the number 11 tram. We had a brief rundown of the day with Ms Hales before we were sent off to explore Melbourne City in our groups. Our research topics ranged from entertainment, transport, crime, the zoo and more. Every group visited different areas in the city to investigate and find more information about their topic. In discussion with Ms. Hales, my group and I were allowed to go to the Botanical Gardens to research our topic on the Melbourne Zoo. We discovered some information that stated that animals had been housed there before The Melbourne Zoo was made. Everyone had so much fun and we are all so excited to go back to the city and find even more information for our project.
