Rainbow Club

Going strong!

It has been a great welcome back to school for 2021 in the Rainbow Club this term. We have had our highest numbers since I began facilitating the club in 2019, which is a fantastic thing to see! We have welcomed our highest number of Year 7s since then, too.  

As well as our usual Friday Lunch meetings in M9, we have had a number of other events. 

Last Thursday, our group members were involved in an Online Forum hosted by Minus 18. They were able to hear the personal story of one of Minus18’s Youth Workers, and engage with students from Thornbury, Preston and William Ruthven Secondary Schools.  

This week, we were paid a visit by Darebin Council’s representative for the The Hub, a safe space for Queer Youth, to learn about events and services it provides from its location at Northland.  

We are looking forward to another great term after the Easter Holidays! Remember, all welcome at the Rainbow Club meetings, every Friday lunch in M9. Come in and say hi!
