TheirCare Program

Welcome to the Jungle – Holiday Program

During the school holidays, TheirCare brought the jungle to St Mary's Primary School with amazing activities, incursions and excursions. We had the opportunity to provide educational and wellbeing activities with a main impact in children’s knowledge about sustainability.

As club base activities, the most popular activities were:

  • Anzac Cookies decoration.
  • Bubble art.
  • Science experiments: Lemon volcano.
  • Pipe cleaner creations.
  • Bird nest game.
  • Modroc Masks.

About incursions, the Holiday Program had two. Sounds of Nature was the theme of one of the incursions, where children learn how to do yoga as a mindfulness activity, connecting them with nature. The other incursion activity was named Jungle Jam, which was based on how to survive in the jungle making a tent in the playground area with some equipment. Children had to use their knowledge as a group to create a shelter where they could survive together.

Related to the excursions, our children had the opportunity to go to the movies to watch ‘Tom and Jerry,’ and at ‘Gould League’ learn about sustainability of habitats, with why it is important to recycle and why the insects are indispensable for the ecosystem.

TheirCare provided two weeks of fun in the jungle during the holiday program and we would like to invite families for the next holiday period. For more information please visit https://theircare.com.au/ or come to service to talk with TheirCare educators.

Welcome Back to Classes – Term 2 – Week 1

TheirCare welcomed our children of St Mary's Primary School with a week full of imagination, focusing on activities mainly in craft and creativity. Our children were happy and excited to come back to service demonstrating their craft and sport skills. The planned activities most popular during the week was making a kite with recycling materials, silent ball, pipe cleaner creations, clay creations and hama bead creations. Activities as clay and hama beads help to develop the fines motor skill of our children, understand patterns, and use their creativity. Our children have shown their autonomy and initiative making their own craft creation.
