Welcome back to Term Two, it is wonderful to see the students settling into their new spaces and routines. We have had an action packed start to the term with School Photos, Science Lessons with ACU Pre Service Teachers, Year 4 Reconciliation and the Year 5 & 6  Soccer Lightening Premiership.

WELLBEING - SAFETY ONSITE

As we settle into the term and our new routines, it is vital that the safety of our students and all community members is front and centre when we are driving near or on school property.

A reminder that the speed limit for the driveway, until you exit onto Dandenong Road, is 5km per hour. During afternoon pick up, on the senior campus, we ask that any parent /family member waits inside the fence. This ensures that the driveway is clear and everyone is safe. When moving to and from your car, please use the designated crossing and walk along pathways, including through the fenced off area in the senior school. The driveway is not for foot traffic during this time at all.

Students and staff are working together to ensure safety for our community and we look forward to your cooperation in this area as Child Safety is our priority.

Musical with St Mary’s College - Update

St Mary’s College will now be performing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as their musical this year.

There is still the opportunity for our students from Years 4 - 6 to be part of an ensemble number within the production.

Rehearsals are held in Logue Hall at St Mary’s College on a Tuesday and Thursday between 3.30 - 5.30pm and as we get closer to production week, there are Sunday rehearsals as well. St Mary’s Primary School students who are taking part are not required at every rehearsal.

There will be a staff member from St Mary’s Primary School present at all rehearsals that our students attend, it is however the parents responsibility to drop off and collect students to and from rehearsals, they are not required to stay during rehearsals.

Mr O’Meara (Musical Director at St Mary’s College) and the musical director Ms Emily Wheaton (a talented actor on TV and stage and experienced director) are currently finalising casting and rehearsal schedules. Once these details are completed, a permission form through Operoo will be sent home with the rehearsal dates and times for our students.
