NAPLAN Assessments 

Students in Years 3 and 5 completed assessments in Language Conventions (Spelling and Grammar), Writing, Reading and Maths this week.  We are really proud of the way students tried their best and approached these assessments with persistence and flexibility. 

As we said to the children before they started, we know things about them that the people who score the assessments do not know.  

We know who is kind, generous and thoughtful; who is confident and can speak in front of a large audience; who shows exceptional talent in a sport or musical instrument; who has a great sense of humour and can deliver jokes with a minimum of ease; who cares and loves their siblings; who has an infectious smile, and who can problem solve and show resilience when things do not go according to plan. 

All these things are not tested by NAPLAN, however we know that these are the things that make our children unique and valuable to the St Michael's community.
