Boys' Boarding News

Another short week meant a long weekend in boarding. The boys' time was filled in with plenty of action. Special thanks to staff member, and occasional House Parent, Fabrice Wamara and his family for hosting the boys for an evening, and House Parents, Marea Moulton and William Phelps for accompanying the boys. There were a number of other excursions to town and sporting events that filled in the extra day.

The boys continue to put up their hands to represent the College. Last Friday seven boys participated in the St Philip's College Interschool Mountain Bike team that competed out at the Telegraph Station. This weekend Pedrea Jackson and Trinity Robertson are attending a NT Volleyball Camp while the Year 8 boys head out for their annual school expedition.

This term the boarders are being introduced to a number of digital programs to help with the personal organization of their busy lives. An online REACH App (used by Boarding Schools throughout Australia) has been introduced, along with a personalized events timetable.

On Wednesday, the twelve boys playing football played against each other with Rovers taking home the win. Full credit to all the boys who never gave up trying and played the game in great spirit. A busload of boarders watched the action on a chilly Wednesday evening at Traeger Park to show their support.

A personal meeting has been held with each of the boys to discuss their Term 1 reports and what their goals are for Term 2. It is great to see the range of learning opportunities being taken up.
