Principal's Message

Aspire Celebrate Reflect

Dear Parents,

This weekend we celebrate Mother's Day and I would like to wish all our mums the very best for the day.

This morning our P&FA President, Lizzie Edwards, together with our College Captains, presented flowers to the mums who dropped their children off at school. I'm not sure who enjoyed it more, the mums who received the flowers or our captains who could see the joy in the faces of our mums. Thank you everyone.

With our camp season in full swing and students and staff coming and going, organisation, coordination and cooperation are key ingredients to ensure things run smoothly.

I would like to encourage our students to take responsibility for organising themselves and their supplies for their upcoming Outdoor Ed expeditions. For some students this comes easily, and for others it may require parents to supervise to some degree. At whichever level of independence your child might be, I hope your child takes the initiative to prepare themselves for their next exciting Outdoor Ed adventure.

The skills acquired in this programme, can be used in many other areas of our students' lives. Just as the skills acquired in a traditional classroom can be used outdoors. One of the advantages of a dynamic and modern curriculum here at St Philip's is the inclusion of skills-based and project-based learning together with academic and arts based subjects.

I hope your child has given some thought as to what they ASPIRE to achieve for this term. At the end of the term we would love to CELEBRATE with them, and also be there when they REFLECT on what has transpired, and also on the direction they want to take.

Thank you and Be Kind Always,
