RE News

Dear Families,

Welcome back to another busy term.  Term 4 is always a wonderful term in relation to our RE and faith development.

Catholic Mission – Socktober

During Term 4 we are looking forward to raising funds for Catholic Mission. This will happen during the month of October or “Socktober” as it is known in Catholic schools.  Catholic Mission supports the work done by missionaries all around the world in spreading the word of Jesus Christ but more importantly by Making Jesus Real by making a difference in the lives of those who need it. There will be more details to follow as to what classes are planning to do  Our SLA students began doing this by aligning their fundraising with their class work on Kidpreneur.  The students designed and produced products which they sold to the school community. After deducting their costings, any profits made will be forwarded to Catholic Mission.  Kidpreneur is a great program to teach students about business and the students and SLA teachers did a fantastic job running this and organising their stalls.  For more details, please check out the SLA page in the newsletter and for more information on Catholic Mission please click on this link…. https://www.socktober.org.au/

WEST

At St Joseph the Worker, we put great emphasis on Making Jesus Real.  This is both a program and a philosophy that encourages students not just to just be content with learning about Jesus and His teachings but also to live out these scripture messages.

Each term students are nominated for showing any of our WEST qualities which are to be… Welcoming, Encouraging students, who say Thank you and Sorry when needed.

This term, the students appearing on our WEST Wall of Fame are……

Gabriella – Prep

For encouraging others and helping them to be the best version of themselves.

Alissa – JLA

For showing kindness to her classmates and making sure that they feel happy and safe.

Paul - MLA

For being welcoming to all students and making sure that they feel included in group tasks.

Reuben - SLA

For being a great leader and making others feel at ease and included in activities.

We would like to both congratulate and thank these students for the wonderful example they show all of us and for Making Jesus Real for others. Here are our wonderful fellas –Reuben and Paul.  Unfortunately, the girls were unavailable for the photo, but we are very proud of their efforts as well.

God Bless
