PDPHE

Term 4 is off to a flying start, with Year 7 and 9 PDHPE classes participating in striking and fielding games, such as Softball, T-ball, Hockey and Cricket, and looking to finish off the year with a variety of fitness activities later in the term.

Year 8 will focus on developing skills in Touch Football through a range of activities utilising a game sense approach to develop both technical and tactical skills in practical lessons. Students will develop skills in both attacking and defensive movements in a sport that also develops components of fitness such as speed, agility and cardiorespiratory endurance.

Year 8 will also look at issues around Mental Health, one of the leading causes of ill-health facing young people today. The unit will provide students with opportunities to develop skills in identifying and dealing with Mental Health concerns within themselves and others.

Year 9 and 10 PASS

Year 9 and 10 PASS students are preparing for their upcoming Surf Excursion where they will participate in surfing and paddle boarding lessons as well develop a range of beach and surf rescue skills. Students will prepare for this excursion in Week 2 when they visit the OASIS Aquatic Centre to engage in swimming, rescue and safety challenges.

This unit provides a wonderful opportunity for all students involved to develop practical movement skills in dynamic environments and challenges students in applying critical thinking and organisational skills.

The PDHPE KLA wishes Year 12 PDHPE and CAFS students all the best for their upcoming HSC exams and hope all their effort and hard work is rewarded, by achieving their best possible result.
