School News

Marni Naa Pudni

As we come to an end of another highly successful term, I would like to acknowledge the hard work of our staff and their continued commitment to ensuring our students get the highest quality education. Our Community Night last week provided a look at a wide range of quality teaching and learning programs.

Thank you to all our families that attended Community Night. It was great to have people back at the school and able to tour our learning spaces.  We hope all the families enjoyed seeing all the work the children have put together and the children enjoyed being able to show off their hard work.

I would also like to acknowledge the hard work and commitment of our staff to put this event together. It is a huge commitment and we appreciate their dedication.

We thank the Choir and Torrens Drum Team for putting on a great show at the end and @vandoughsa and @what_thecroque for serving us delicious food.

Bring on next year!

NAPLAN Reports (Years 3 and 5)

On Monday, families of our Year 3 and 5 students will receive their child's 2022 National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) Report.

As is always the case, NAPLAN gives only an indication of a student’s performance on the day of testing and the results should be interpreted with care. Please be aware that generally most children will have progressed with their academic achievements over the five months since the time of testing and current results likely differ from those indicated in this report, particularly as more of the curriculum has been addressed at this point of the year.

Teachers at our school regularly assess students’ learning using a range of assessment tasks that cater for a variety of learning styles. The NAPLAN results add to the wealth of knowledge that we already have about individual children.

You are invited to contact your child’s teacher or the leadership team if you have any questions or require assistance to interpret the report.

Please contact the school on 8443 5544 to make a suitable appointment time.

Class Placement 2023

In the first few weeks of Term 4, the process to place students into classes for 2023 will begin.

Classes are formed according to:

  • The number of students at each year level
  • The Education Department’s recommended teacher-to-student ratio as per the funding model
  • Staff knowledge about students' educational needs
  • Information provided by parents that address the LNPS Class Placement Guidelines (please see attached)

Class Placement Guidelines-COMMUNITY.pdf

If parents wish to provide further educational information to support this process, please use the LNPS Class Placement Guidelines. Information or requests that do not meet the criteria outlined in the guidelines will not be taken into consideration.
