Learning Updates -

School of Possibilities

It's a busy time for our Year 10s

Welcome to Term 4, the final term for 2022! The year has certainly flown by and our students have developed new skills, gained new knowledge and grown closer together as a community of learners. Please find below some important information about Term 4. It is going to be another busy term!

Uniform

As it is now Term 4, a reminder that all students are expected to wear a hat when outside. Students without hats must stay under the cover of the building canopy during recess and lunchtime. At all times, students must wear only St Anne’s College uniform items. Students not in full school uniform must have a signed note from home explaining why the student is out of school uniform. Information was sent to families last term regarding the uniform items required for School of Possibilities. All students in the School of Possibilities in 2023 will be expected to be in academic uniform unless they have a practical Physical Education class. We suggest that families take this into account when purchasing items for the coming term.

Blazer Fittings

Over the first two weeks of this term, all students in Years 9 and 10 attended a blazer fitting. Information will be sent home with your child identifying the size your child has been fitted with, allowing room for growth, to assist you with ordering your child’s blazer. Details of the ordering process for the blazers will be communicated at a later date. A reminder that all students in the School of Possibilities in 2023 will be required to purchase a blazer, which will need to be ordered and paid for this term to ensure arrival for school photos in Term 1.

Year 10 Formal

It is with great excitement that I can inform you that planning is well under way for the inaugural St Anne’s College Year 10 formal. A small group of staff and students have formed an official formal committee and have been meeting to discuss all things dancing, decorations and music! The purpose of this evening is for students to celebrate together and learn some traditional ball dances. With the successful booking of a venue, the formal will take place on the evening of Friday, December 2 at St Mel’s Parish Hall, Hamilton St, Shepparton. Each student will be permitted to invite a small number of guests to view the dances. We expect that all students will attend this school event. More specific details will be provided closer to the date. For now, please save the date!

Work Experience

It has been wonderful to hear about our students’ adventures in the various workplaces they attended during work experience. We received really positive feedback from employers on the conduct, work ethic and inquisitive nature of our students. Well done to all!

Booklist for VCE and VCE-VM Subjects in 2023

Timetabling is currently under way and students will be notified of their 2023 subjects as soon as possible. In Years 11 and 12, families will be required to provide stationery and textbooks for students, due to VCE subjects requiring specialised resources. Our booklist provider will be Campion Education. Campion will be able to provide all required resources with the option to have texts delivered to your home or picked up from their retail space in Telford Drive, Shepparton, before the start of the school year. There will be more information released with the booklist, later this term.

Program Support Group (PSG) Meetings

A reminder that PSGs will take place during the weeks of November 7-11 and November 21-25. All students on a Personal Learning Plan (PLP) require a PSG each term to review adjustments and set new learning goals. Pastoral Group Leaders will contact families in the weeks prior to book these sessions. Please be prompt in providing the Pastoral Group Leaders your availability. Pastoral Group Leaders are only available during the allocated times to run these very important meetings.

Year 10 Exams

Year 10 exams will take place from Tuesday, November 29 to Thursday, December 1. An exam timetable will be published closer to these dates.

End of the Year

The last day of Term 4 for School of Possibilities students is Wednesday, December 14.
