Leadership Report

Term 4 is up and running!

Welcome back to Term 4 to all of our students and families!

The holidays now feel like a distant memory as we are right in the thick of core teaching and learning time this term. With a short 9-week sprint before the summer holidays, we will be at the halfway point and beyond before we realise it. This term still sees a lot of key learning ahead and it is important that students are focused and engaged to maximise learning at the back of the year and in readiness for their learning journey ahead in 2023.

On Wednesday Week 1, we were finally able to get our Sports Day underway...third time lucky! It was well worth the wait as we were treated to amazing weather and a wonderful day of participation by all students. It was lovely to finally welcome back parents and families to share in the day with children after a two-year absence as a result of the COVID pandemic. The community feel to the day was so empowering and that very special Magill feel was alive and well with everyone enjoying the day! Please see our Sports Day page in this edition of the newsletter where you will find more information and photos from the day. Finally, a big thank you to our amazing Sports Day Committee for all of their hard work in putting the day together... It was yet another raging success!

As many of you would have seen, the demolition work in our Junior Primary Penfold building is progressing quickly. The building has now been reduced to a shell with only the walls remaining from what used to house many of our Junior Primary classes. This has been very exciting for our students who have seen the machines in action during the day and the demolition works unfolding before their eyes. It is also a timely reminder to please ensure we move safely around the school, pay attention to the temporary fencing and any other safety signage or precautions that are in place around the school to keep us all safe. With more of us now occupying a smaller space within the school, this is also very important to ensure we are moving safely around the school site. When at school, it has been so pleasing to see our older students acting as role models, caring for and looking out for our younger aged students when moving in and around buildings.

With many year levels having exciting excursions or camps just around the corner there is plenty happening at school for all students. We look forward to another great term ahead and as always thank families for their continued, ongoing support.
