INSPIRING CURIOUS MINDS
We are so excited to have over 45 teachers, parents, grandparents, carers and students registered as part of our 2XU SMPPS team!
We will be sending out details in November of where we will base ourselves in Catani gardens on the day.
With just over a month to go till the event, you still have time to register via the link below if you are wanting to join us. Please see below for the original details that were sent out.
The 2XU Wellness run is a running event that is held in December. This year some of the SMPPS staff will be running and we would love for the school community to join us. There are a range of distances to suit everyone including a 1km kids run for under 12 year olds.
It’s definitely not a competitive race, last year there were people running dressed up as Teletubbies, it's meant to be more fun than serious and it raises funds for Beyond Blue which is a fantastic cause.
Date: 4th December
Distances: 21km, 10km, 5km walk or run and a 1km rids run.
Course: Starts and finishes at Catani gardens and goes along Beach Rd.
If you are wanting to join, the easiest way to join the SMPPS team is via this link as it links you automatically into the school team:

Please note this is an event we are opening up to the school community. It is not an official school event, all children will need to be supervised by a parent or guardian.

MEDIA RELEASE OCTOBER 6, 2022
CELEBRATE HALLOWEEN WITH
MELBOURNE’S HOWL-O-WEEN PAW PARADE!
Sunday October 30, 2022 – Port Melbourne
With Australia having one of the highest rates of pet ownership worldwide (29 million domestic pets in Australian homes)* and Melbourne the most pet friendly city in the nation** – it is fitting that our city is home to the annual Melbourne HOWL-O-WEEN Paw Parade on Sunday October 30, 2022.
After a three-year hiatus, Port Melbourne Business Association is thrilled to announce the return of the much-loved and biggest doggie parade in Australia - with 100% of this year’s $10 registration fees donated to Guide Dogs Victoria.
Dress your pooch in the scariest, wackiest and paws-itively adorable costume this Halloween for Melbourne’s HOWL-O-WEEN Paw Parade to be held in Port Melbourne on Halloween eve.
Led by the popular and spooktacular annual Doggie Parade from 10am to 11am along Port Melbourne’s Bay Street, paw paraders and their pets will be treated to a special FREE trick-or-treat trail designed specifically for the kids as well as competitions, entertainment and prizes for the whole family to enjoy. Port Melbourne’s Rouse Street will also come alive with a market full of stalls catered to man’s best friend.
“This year we are expecting the dog parade event to be bigger than ever, with our previously successful 2018 HOWL-O-WEEN Paw Parade attracting more 450 pooches and owners in costume as they embarked on Australia’s biggest Doggie Trick or Treat,” said Port Melbourne Business Association’s Paul Littmann.
“With Port Melbourne having one of the most pets per capita than any other suburb in Australia - this HOWL-O-WEEN Paw Parade is sure to be popular amongst the bayside and wider Melbourne community – where everyone is welcome to bring along their furry friends of all shapes and sizes,” said Littmann.
Melbourne’s 2022 HOWL-O-WEEN Paw Parade is an awesome op-paw-tunity to bond with your furry best friend as well as make some new lifetime pals - so make sure to register now!
