SMPPS SPRING PICNIC FRIDAY 4TH NOVEMBER

The weather is warming up, Spring is here and things are getting back to "normal".

We'd love for families to join us for a Spring Picnic at the Coot Picnic Area next to Albert Park Lake. Bring your picnic rug, food and drink for an after school play at the park.

When: Friday 4th November, after school 

Where: Coot Picnic Area, Albert Park - diagonally across from the back of the school next to Albert Park Lake.

STATE ELECTION BBQ AND CAKE STALL SATURDAY 26 NOVEMBER 

Join us for what might be known as the greatest local democracy sausage sizzle and cake stall in the State! 

After a hugely successful Federal Election Democracy sausage sizzle and cake stall that raised over $3000 our lovely school will again be a Voting Centre. Many locals will be coming past to cast their vote. We are looking for helpers, bakers and suppliers to help us. More details will be coming soon.

SUSTAINABLE SECOND HAND UNIFORM SHOP TUESDAY 13 DECEMBER

The pop-up school uniform shop has quality used garments for sale. Summer dresses $10, sports tops $10, pants/shorts $10, shirts $10, winter jackets and cardigans $20.

Please donate your uniforms to the reception office. Please make sure the uniforms are laundered.  We cannot accept socks, torn or badly stained garments. All funds raised will be contributed to the playground fund.

Have a vote in major decisions through the year, gain access to Slack communications to make helping with projects even easier and receive our meeting minutes in your mailbox. Please note, if you were a member in 2021, your annual membership has now expired, and you will need to renew this by paying your membership fee. 

Every member matters, as we work together to ensure a brighter future for our school. 

We are having a casual catch up for our next meeting to discuss the last few events, the students and future events and fundraising.

Together, we’re able to do so much more. 

WORKING WITH CHILDREN & POLICE CHECKS

To help out at any of our events throughout the year, all volunteers must have a current Working With Children (WWC) Check, this is a policy for all Victorian schools. WWC checks are free to complete and are valid for 5 years. To complete yours, simply fill out the form online at:

Volunteers who handle money transactions at any of our events will also require a current Police Check. Police checks will incur a fee and will need to be renewed every 3 years. You can apply for a Police Check online at the following websites:

The School needs to keep a copy of any checks or certificates on file at the school. Once completed, these checks/certificates can be emailed directly to the School or copied at the office.

SCHOOL COOKBOOK – Through the Seasons with Kids at Heart

To support our fundraising efforts, please make sure you purchase one of our delightful cookbooks! A must-have for all our families and friends and a great Christmas present. You can order and pay via Qkr or by eftpos at the office.

Cost: $35 (with discounts for orders of 3 or more copies).

All proceeds will go towards the SMPPS Families & Friends fundraising fund.
