YEAR 1

Our students have been exploring measurement length, mass and capacity . We have begun learning about measurement terms, heavier, lighter, more or less. Students were able to apply there learning through a variety of hands-on activities. We explore different units and the most efficient unit to measure different object.  

The students reflected on their learning by commenting; 

• Bigger object needed more unifix it needs to fill it- Peter 1A
• The bigger the object, the heavier things are- Marlow 1A
• What they are made out of makes them heavier or lighter- Lina 1A

YEAR 3 - 6

Students in 3-6 have been enjoying their time in the classroom. In Reading they have been learning when to ask questions about a text and in Writing they have been learning about persuasive texts, speeches and debates. In Maths, students have been learning about angles, symmetry and measurement. Students have also explored ‘respect’ and have been working on building and maintaining a respectful community. All students have also been enjoying a soccer clinic.
