SUBJECT SELECTIONS FOR YEARS 10 AND 11 2023
The elective lines for Years 10 and 11 2023 have almost been allocated. In the coming weeks, your student will receive an email with the outline of their electives for next year. If your student has not yet made selections they will need to see me as a matter of urgency.
COLLEGE PRESENTATION EVENING
Our presentation evening occurs on Tuesday 8th November. I look forward to celebrating the success of so many of our students. This award evening is a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge many students for their commitments to excellence in academic, sporting, arts, and service arenas. Parents and families are encouraged to join us in these celebrations.
SENIOR EXAMS
Year 11 Block Exams
Year 11 Block Exams will occur in Week 3 of this term. The exam block spans this week's five days, beginning on Monday 17th October, and finishing Friday 21st October. The exam schedule has been published for all students. They are not required to attend school when they do not have an exam scheduled. Should they wish to engage in quiet study, we will have a devoted study room (Library Collaborate room) for senior students to use throughout the block exam period. Please remind students that they must attend exams/study wearing their formal uniforms.
Year 12 External Exams
External exams run from Monday 24th October to Tuesday 15th November. This year we will make use of our purpose-built Hugh O’Brien Centre to house the external exams for Weeks 1 and 2. Students should present to the foyer of the Hugh O'Brien Centre where they will find essential information about session times and seating arrangements. As our college presentation night and graduation mass will fall during this external exam period, exams happening during Weeks 3 and 4 will be relocated to T Block.
Vital information has been sent to all students sitting General subject exams. This information includes the exam schedule, starting times, instructions, and equipment lists. Please support your students during this exam time to minimise distractions, eat and sleep well, and manage their study time wisely. Brain breaks, such as gathering with friends, exercising, and connecting with family also help to manage this stressful time in their schooling journey.
For VET students, all assessments should be submitted to teachers prior to this exam period. Should assessments be completed, VET students are not required to attend during Week 3 of term, as well as for the External Exams duration.
As the final year of formal schooling wraps up for the Year 12 cohort, we look forward to farewelling them all, as a community, on Wednesday 16th November, at 9:00am, with the Graduation Mass and our traditional Guard of Honour.
