PLASTIC FREE JULY

There’s still time to join the Plastic Free July challenge!

Hi Families,

July isn’t over yet and there are still plenty of ways to reduce your family’s consumption of single-use plastics.

Why not next time you go shopping, see if you can refuse to buy your fruit and veggies in pre-packaged plastic? Or better yet, have you ever tried reusable fruit and veggie bags?

Shopping bags, coffee cups, and packaging are all major contributors to landfill and clog our recycling system. Even just committing to reducing one of these things will make a massive difference.

If you’re unsure about where to start, Plastic Free July has loads of information on where to start.

And you can sign up for the challenge here

HUGE THANKS FOR CANVAS BAGS

A huge thankyou to all families that dropped off canvas and reusable bags to the office for Plastic Free July.

We plan to use these bags for upcoming events to further reduce our plastic waste for July and into the future.

CERES BIODIVERSITY AT RPS

This week we had two very special guests from CERES visit Ripponlea Primary School to talk and further educate us on biodiversity around our grounds.

Our student sustainability representatives from years 5 & 6 conducted a biodiversity audit in the afternoon, looking to further our focus on sustainability and biodiversity at RPS.

Many thanks!
