Preps
Students in Prep have been continuing to practice counting to 10 in Japanese and correctly matching up the corresponding kanji.

Prep students this term also learnt the 11 one-stroke hiragana characters. Hiragana is one of the main scripts used in reading and writing Japanese.

Grade One
Grade One students have been working hard this term to practice the two-stroke hiragana characters. They have been revising over them using a number of strategies, including picture stories, games and songs.

Grade Two
Grade Two students have also been working hard this term to practice hiragana characters. They have been revising over three and four-stroke hiragana, and have also been using picture stories, games and songs to remember them.

Grade Three and Four
At the end of this term, Grade Three and Four students have been learning how to tell the time in Japanese. They have been revising over kanji numbers in Japanese to assist them with asking and answering questions about o’clock times.
