Italian

Grade 3

Throughout this semester, Grade 3s have continued to work on general conversation during role plays and revised their vocabulary of numbers to 100, colours, days of the week and months.

Using a set word vocabulary, Grade 3 students made a booklet describing their favourite food eaten during each meal time, sport they play and pets they own.

During Term 2, students revised days, months and the seasons as well as recognising   today, tomorrow and yesterday in a short sentence. Using Italian Google our main focus was to learn the names of classroom items,  to create simple sentences and record them using BEEP.  The technical skills of all students are improving. Students are cooking tiramisu in the last week of term.

Grade 4

Throughout this semester, Grade 4s have also continued to work on general conversation by participating in role plays, revising vocabulary ie numbers to 100, colours, days of the week and months.  Grade 4 students have learnt to tell the time, how to ask how much food costs, request food, make bookings and write the date for the unit Ristorante. Students have also learnt the names of common foods in each course ie antipasto, primo, secondo, contorno and insalata e dolce. The next step was to construct a script with support that included making a booking, going to the restaurant and ordering food from different courses, and paying for the bill. Students constructed the script using technology to record sentences.
