STUDENT LEADERSHIP

Over the past term, seven BSC Year 9 students – Emanuel, Fred, Annelie, Matilda, Alec, Tess & Flynn – have been participating in a residential Department of Education program called the School for Student Leadership (SSL).

There are four SSL campuses with our students being located at Haining Farm (Don Valley). We offer this opportunity on an annual basis, but this is the first group that has been able to complete the term-long program since 2019.

Students have been involved in a significant amount of leadership training and preparation for community service, which will culminate in a Community Leadership Project on their return. They have also participated in Expos (expeditions) most recently in the Cathedral Ranges earlier this week.

We look forward to welcoming these students back into the school community when they return in Term 3 and benefitting from their leadership education and insights.
