MATHS @ SCHOOL

This term has started with a buzz. We are busy learning how to identify maths in our everyday environment. We are beginning to introduce Maths Walls to assist students to make connections and to identify maths in our everyday environment.  Also, to support maths and assist to consolidate mathematical understanding, we have continued to use games as a learning tool. Our Maths Walls and learning through games has been a great success!

COVID UPDATE

DET have confirmed that Rapid Testing Kits will continue to be provided to schools for the remainder of this year. These are to be used in the event any student has symptoms and for household contacts each day. (A negative RAT must be completed each school day by students who are household contacts before they can attend).

As a school, we are also recommending that families continue with regular testing for students e.g. Monday and Thursday mornings.

The kits will be sent home with students by early next week (once a new shipment has been received) and more are available by request from the school office.

As a school we can expect continued workforce pressures around staff absence, and we also understand that students may be absent at times as well. Our staff team will continue to ensure our teaching and learning program continues with the least interruptions as possible but there will be times when specialist classes do not run and classes are split. It remains very important that if your child is unwell that they stay home until they are well. We will also continue to ensure appropriate ventilation and use of air purifiers in teaching spaces across the school.

BUILDING UPDATE

During the school holidays our builders completed the asbestos work and we can begin to look forward to seeing some progress on the footings soon!
