Around the School
Soccer star
Earlier this week Henry Wynne attended the SSV Southern Metropolitan Region U12 Team Vic trials. After playing 4 very tough and intense games, he was selected to proceed to SSV Team Vic Soccer Trials which are scheduled for June in Melbourne. The squad he has been chosen for is the extended Team Vic squad and this will then be reduced after the state trials in June.Henry's parents were blown away by Henry's selection and are incredibly proud of his efforts. The school is very impressed with Henry's dedication, commitment and participation. We wish Henry every success in these new experiences at state team selection competition. |
Mother's Day Stall
Thank you to all the mums who volunteered their time on Friday to help the students select and wrap gifts for their mums, grandma's or special person. It was was a big day and so nice to see what special gifts the children chose.
A big thank you to Bree Fennell for organising all the gifts and setting up such a beautiful shopping experience in the library for the students.

District Athletics
Monday 13th May saw the Woorayl District Athletics Carnival held at the velodrome where
our school had sixty-one representatives participating. Organisation, setting up and the smooth
running of the event was a feature of the day and we were greatly indebted to Leongatha Little
Athletics and to our district co-ordinator Lewis Rankin, for their hard work.
St. Laurence students are to be congratulated on their behavior and effort and the support
and encouragement they gave to each other. Their results were pleasing and those students that
placed in the first three will now move onto the South Gippsland Division Athletics to be held at
Casey Fields in September. Children in the under 9 age group will only proceed if their achievements
were better than their counterparts in under 10.
A big thank you to Marlene Dyke who once again helped to officiate at high jump. She has
been a such a reliable helper over many, many years and her efforts are greatly appreciated, well
done and thank you Marlene! Finally, once again we had good parent attendance at the sports
which is a great support.
