Recreation On Offer

Recreation was a topic of discussion at the recent Boarding Forum. Parents requested weekly updates on the list of recreational activities on offer to the boarders. Boarding families can access the Cognito form which is available via the Boarding Noticeboard here to see what is on offer each week.  Boarders use this Cognito form each week to sign up.

Fishing and Stand-Up Paddle-Boarding

With the return of nice weather, the boarders have been taking advantage of some of the more popular recreation activities. On clear and calm days, stand-up paddle-boarding has been a firm favourite this year, as has fishing.

Fishing is a catch and release sport for the boarders, where a stick is kept as a measure of the size of fish caught. Charlie Ritchie won the day last Saturday with her good sized bream. Steven Wiech and Mrs Freeman were also pretty proud of their catch of the day.

Photo Competition

We acknowledged the talent shown by our young photographers in the second Boarders' Photography Competition. Entries could be made in two categories; landscapes or characters. Once again, we were very impressed by the quality of the entrants which were displayed in the Dining Hall this term. The voting was so tight that we saw a tie in both categories between Jacob Featherstone and Darcy Barrett (landscapes category) and Thomas Dolan and Harrison Dolan (characters category). The boarders voted again and we congratulate the runner-ups: Darcy Barrett with 24 votes; Harrison Dolan with 33 votes; Thomas Dolan with 34 votes; and the winner, Jacob Featherstone, with 43.

The two photos from Thomas and Jacob have been printed and framed for display in the Dining Hall for all to enjoy. Both Thomas and Jacob made the finals last year. Well done again, boys, with this year's entries.

Please enjoy a selection of other photo entries from our boarders.

Giant Slip & Slide

Recently, we found a new spot for our slip & slide on the grassy knoll overlooking the beautiful harbour and vineyard. The big hill made for a great afternoon of exercise, running back to the top for another go!

Skate Park

The Anchorage House boys visited their favourite Skate Park at PCYC on Sunday of Week Seven for a recreation activity.

End of Year Recreation

To finish the year off we plan to go to the Christmas Markets and Pageant and to the Gun Fire Salute at the National ANZAC Centre on the weekend of Week Eight.
