Discovery Centre

Curriculum
We had a busy week in the Discovery Centre with lots of fun activities. We learned all about road safety during our Walking Excursion. It was a very exciting day and we thank all the parents who came along to help keep us safe while walking around the streets. Students wrote Christmas cards in class and we walked down to the post box to post these Christmas cards, we hope the recipients love them! Following the excursion students wrote a recount using sequencing language and identifying their favourite part of the excursion.
In Mathematics we focused on addition and used some different strategies to solve problems such as using counters and counting on and counting back. Students who were already confident with these strategies had a go at learning the jump strategy with a numberline.
In Guided Inquiry students practised their Fairy Tale puppet shows. It was amazing to see all the bravery and creativity on show during this time. This week we look forward to performing our puppet shows for another Foundation class.
On Saturday it was the Pleasant Bazaar! What a fantastic day it was! There was so many fun rides like the bumper cars and the giant slide, lots of amazing stalls, especially the Junior Makers. We hope you had a chance to visit the Teacher's Stall and guess all the teacher's baby photos. Thanks to all families who came along and for all those who volunteered to help make the Pleasant Bazaar an incredible event!
Have a wonderful week,
Erin Dawson, Samantha Tang, Katrina Chooi, Jessica Tossell
