P&F Fundraising News

The 2019 Pleasant Bazaar went off with a bang! Saturday was a fabulous day out and the event ran very smoothly. Big thanks to Leonie and Jess for steering the ship – you did a wonderful job. Special mention to Luke W and Cam for muscle power (and many a Bunnings trip) and for spending Friday night on school grounds to watch over everything and get those rides in on the oval. There were so many people involved in the creation of this year’s Pleasant Bazaar that one newsletter report really cannot do justice to the involvement, hard work and dedication that has been put in over many months. Thank you to the committee, the coordinators, to every volunteer, to anyone who donated goods, time or money and thank you also to all the supporters who came along on the day.

We’re hoping for a record-breaking result in fundraising dollars but it may not be possible to announce that result for a few days while all the totals are reconciled. Please bear with us.

Coming Up:

For our Kindergarten families, pop Sunday December 8th into your diary. Our Kindergarten Christmas Party is returning in 2019. You won’t want to miss this fun event. There will be a BBQ, kids entertainment, lawn bowling and a visit from Santa! Tickets are available now via https://www.trybooking.com/BFTSH  The whole family is welcome to join the fun, so grab a ticket for Grandma or Grandpa too.

Pop Thursday December 12th in your diary for the MPRPS&K Christmas Concert. P&F will host a BBQ on the night. It’s always a fun festive evening so bring along a picnic rug and settle in for some fun.

Fundraising Mango orders should arrive very soon. Stay tuned for a pick up date.

Thank you to the O'Brien Family for supplying Friday’s cake raffle and the Taubert family for harvesting produce from the garden. We raised $38.20 from ticket sales. Raffle tickets are available for purchase in the courtyard each Friday before assembly.

Forward Planning:

Would you like to be class parent rep in 2020? The role is fun and rewarding, not only does it provide families with a point of contact at a class level but it gives you the opportunity to connect and make new friends. If you would like any more information on what is involved with being a class parent rep please email me at mprps.pf@gmail.com or have a chat to Sue or Ally at the office.

Ways you can get involved this week:

  • Bakers Delight Brentford Square are proud supporters of our school and kinder. When purchasing from their store if you mention MPRPS&K before you pay a percentage of your sale will be donated back to our school and kindergarten. Thanks to Greg and his team for their ongoing support.
  • Jess Sterritt Walker is our Community Support Representative. If you need a little extra support please don’t hesitate to contact Jess. And if you are able to offer support (perhaps you can cook some meals or do some grocery shopping for a family in need) Jess will add you to her database of volunteers – email mprps.community@gmail.com
  • Several wonderful organisations within the Whitehorse area offer free or low cost community meals. A couple of options in our local area are;
  • Stairway Church, Wednesdays 5.4pm, 171 Rooks Rd Vermont.
  • Mitcham Community Meal, Sundays 6pm, 18 Edward St Mitcham.
