Hoop Time Congratulations

This week 36 of our Year 5 & 6 students (four teams) competed in the Hoop Time Basketball tournament.  Our students consistently displayed our Tribes values and showed impressive sportsmanship throughout the day.  Two of our teams walked away winning the tournament in exciting fashion and await the regional finals.  Congratulations to all who competed and thank you to all the parents who came down to support our students play, as well as Daniel and Jhye who have been working hard with all four teams in the lead up of today’s event!

National Sorry Day - Friday 26th May

Our School Captains were invited to attend a National Sorry Day Healing Ceremony at Malahang Reserve in Heidelberg West today.  Wurundjeri Elder, Aunty Di Kerr, delivered a healing ceremony to respectfully acknowledge the resilience of the First Nations community who were impacted by the removal of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.  The School Captains were able to cleanse themselves in smoke, but not as a Welcome Ceremony like they’ve done at school, but as a way of showing respect. The Mayor also spoke and lowered the flags.
