Cross Country News

On Friday, 26th of May, St Anthony’s competed in the Noble Park District Cross Country at Tatterson Park, Keysborough. 25 students from years 3-6 represented the school against a range of schools within the Noble Park district in a series of 2km and 3km races. In the weeks leading up to the event, the students who were selected practised at least twice a week to prepare for their race.

Due to overnight rain, the course was quite slippery, however our students handled the conditions extremely well. Whilst it was a tough race for most of the competitors, the students gave it their best efforts and all managed to complete the race which was fantastic! It was great to see everyone supporting and cheering for one another as each student crossed the finish line.

A big congratulations to Francesco (3rd), Kobe (5th), Melan (5th) and Dylan (8th) who all placed in the top 10 in their respective races and as such, progressed to the Greater Dandenong Division Cross Country which was held on the 2nd of June. All four students managed to place in the top 25 in their races and represented the school amazingly well. They were all determined to do their best and also showed terrific sportsmanship throughout the race. They are all to be congratulated for their amazing achievements.

Francesco managed to finish in 9th place and progressed to compete i the South East Metropolitan Cross Country on the 14th of June. An incredible achievement and one he should be extremely proud of!

All of our students showed hard work and dedication in their training and on race day. They should be praised for the way they represented the school and should all be extremely proud of their efforts.
