Term 2 Week 5

What's happening in the Art room...

Our Grade 6 students have been working on caricature style drawings, they have done such a great job completing their own portraits. We will use these to display at their graduation later in the year.

This week they have started working on designing and creating a beach box for the Art Show which will take place in October.

Our Grade 4 and 5 students have been learning about one point perspective drawings. They experimented with water paints and pastels to add colour to their designs.

An update from the Music Room

The Prep-2 children have been enjoying themselves as they explore music in different ways through movement, scarves and instruments.

Prep:

The Prep children have been moving to music with scarves and our parachute. They have been following directions to move to different genres of music.

We’ve also loved singing ‘Build It Up’ and ‘5 Grey Elephants’.

Prep’s will continue to explore music through movement and singing in the next fortnight.

Year 1 & 2/3:

Year 1 & 2/3 children have been exploring music with scarves and their bodies. The Sing 2 soundtrack has been a crowd favourite along with ‘A Spoonful of Sugar’ from Mary Poppins too.

We’ve been continuing to explore the glockenspiels practising ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’, ‘Baby Shark’ and ‘Happy Birthday’. Our new challenge is going to be of ‘Hedwig’s Theme’ from Harry Potter.

Boomwhackers were introduced this week which were A LOT of fun! We had a great time exploring and playing 'A Sky Full of Stars' from Sing 2 and 'Flowers' by Miley Cyrus.

The Year 1 & 2/3 will move through a rotation of activities over the coming fortnight that include the Steel Drums, Boomwhackers, Glockenspiels and creating their own songs.
