At Holy Spirit, we respectfully acknowledge the Wurundjeri people and their Elders past and present, who are the Traditional Custodians of the land on which Holy Spirit Community School is located.

Spirit Day

A wonderful school celebration last week for Spirit Day.

Some happy snaps from the day

A HUGE thank you to the P&F for organising our delicious lunch for us on this day.

National Reconciliation Week

27th May to 3rd June

is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

A Prayer for Reconciliation

God of justice and forgiveness,

Guide us as we continue on our pathways to Reconciliation.

Grant us the courage to speak out against the injustices that our Indigenous brothers and sisters continue to suffer.

Help us to see with new eyes, to listen to the stories of our Indigenous brothers and sisters and to feel with a heart of compassion.

Help us to build right relations with each other based on truth and justice.

Amen.

Upcoming Dates:

  • Year 4 Eucharist Commitment Masses - Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th June
  • Year 4 Eucharist - Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd July

See you in a fortnight,

PARISH NEWS

Congratulations to all the children who were confirmed last Thursday at St Patrick’s Cathedral.  We hope the experience enlightened your lives and may you grow closer in your faith and love of the Lord.  Last weekend we celebrated Pentecost Sunday, our Parish Feast Day.  It was lovely to see so many people wearing red to mass and we finished off with scones, tea and coffee to celebrate the birth of our Church.

Next Wednesday 7th June there will be a school mass in the Church at 9.15 am with students from Years 1 and 2.  All family and friends are invited to join the children in this special eucharistic celebration.  Please note there will be no mass in the Chapel that day.

Winter Shelter is fast approaching and volunteers are needed.  If you are able to cook something for these homeless men, it would be really appreciated.  The links to register your meal are advertised in “The Word” and available on-line on our Parish website.  We need soups, vegetable dishes or salad, three main meals and three desserts.  Should you have any questions, please call Ellen Holmes on 0404 357 023.  Thank you.

Holy Spirit is a child safe parish.  We hold the care, safety and well being of children and young people as a central and fundamental responsibility of our Parish.

Spirit Magazine

The March 2023 Spirit Magazine is now being prepared. We would love any contributions you would like to share: photos from a community activity, back to school or first day stories or photos, achievements of our students and Alumni, articles you think worth sharing or a favourite digital resource.

Please email your inputs to thespirit@holyspiritparish.org.au by 24th March.

Thank you very much,

Yvette.
