Art

by Yas 5M

Each semester the students across the school focus on one of the elements of art and this term it has been the element of ‘Line’. A line is defined as a path created by a moving point, mark or object. There are many types of lines: thick, thin, horizontal, vertical, zigzag, curved, spiral and so many more. A line’s width is sometimes called it’s thickness or line ‘quality'. In each of these artworks the students have demonstrated their knowledge of lines, creating them in a variety of different ways.

The Grade 1’s and 2’s created these hot air balloons with supermix pastel in the background and metallic slicks in between their lines that they drew on the balloon.

The students in grade 3 and 4 used washi tape to mark out lines on the page, coloured each section with water colour paint and drew lines using markers with a variety of thickness.

In Grade 5 and 6 the students learnt about ‘Neurographic Art’ and draw their lines all over the page whilst focusing on a challenge or problem in their life. These ‘neuro lines’ were then filled in with water colour pencils and permanent maker lines were added.
