As mentioned in our last newsletter, some of our students had the opportunity to attend the Writer's Festival in Bendigo last week. Students have also been enjoying our Science Rotations and will move onto their next unit starting from next week. Check out a few more photos of these fun experiences below!
Medical forms for camp were handed out last week. Please fill them out and return them to your child's classroom teacher at your earliest convenience. Thankyou to all those who have completed these forms already!
More information regarding packing lists, activities, etc. will be sent out in the next few weeks as we wait for numbers to be finalised.
Mathematics: This fortnight, we will begin looking at 'Fractions' during our Fluid Group sessions. In Applied Maths will be exploring a variety of 2D and 3D shapes, constructing them and discussing their key features.
Writing & Reading: In Writing, students will be focusing on using a variety of VCOP elements including dialogue, punctuation and paragraphing. In Reading, we will be expanding our vocabularies by making lists of unknown words and looking up their definitions. We will also learn how to identify the 'main idea' of the texts we read as well as the 'supporting details' that help to make up these texts.
Topic: Students have worked hard to research their chosen explorers and learn about their explorers' national day. This fortnight students will continue to create a timeline of their explorer's most famous voyage and then design a short quiz all about their chosen explorer.
