In the past week, our enthusiastic Prep and Year 1 students have been engaged in an exciting physical education program focused on developing essential skills. They recently completed the "Saltar con Equilibrio" (Jumping with Balance) program, where they learned the art of saltar (jumping) and mastering their equilibrio balance upon landing. Through fun activities and exercises, our young learners discovered how to move their bodies to achieve the perfect jump and maintain stability, improving confidence and body awareness.
But, the excitement doesn't end there! We have just embarked on our " Atrapar la pelota" (Catching the Ball) program, aimed at enhancing eye-hand coordination skills. By practicing the art of catching, our students will refine their ability to track and intercept a moving softball. This fundamental skill is crucial not only in sports like cricket, basketball, and netball but also in everyday activities that require accuracy and timing.
Through these learning programs, our students are developing and refining essential motor skills that will serve as a solid foundation for their future athletic endeavours. We are proud of their enthusiasm and dedication to improving their coordination and look forward to witnessing their progress as they continue to engage in these valuable activities.

Over the past five weeks, Grade 2 and 3 students have been hard at work refining their eye-hand coordination skills in physical education. They have been engaged in a series of activities focused on atrapar (catching) different-sized balls in mid-air, while also improving this skill while in motion. Through minor and adapted games, our students have practiced and improved their ability to track moving objects with precision.
During some rainy days when outdoor activities were limited, our creative minds turned to the classroom. We spent time together crafting vibrant posters promoting healthy habits and the importance of being physically active. Through meaningful discussions, we explored ways to swap sedentary behaviours for healthy ones, encouraging our students to make mindful choices in their daily lives.
We are incredibly proud of the dedication and progress our Grade 2 and 3 students have shown in improving their eye-hand coordination. Their enthusiasm for staying active and promoting healthy habits is truly inspiring. Keep up the fantastic work, and let's continue on this journey of growth and wellness together!
4/5/6
In the past five weeks, our dynamic Grade 4, 5, and 6 students have been fully immersed in improving their netball skills during their physical education classes. They have been eagerly diving into various aspects of the game, including footwork, chest and overhead passing, catching, and even exploring some defensive strategies. By focusing on these fundamental skills, our students are building a solid foundation for their netball journey.
Moreover, our talented Year 6 students have been taking their netball skills to the next level by emphasizing coordination and teamwork. They have been diligently practicing how to effectively coordinate with their team members, executing precise passes that ensure seamless ball movement on the court. Through this collaborative effort, they are mastering the art of teamwork and understanding the importance of effective communication in achieving success.
In addition to skill development, our students have been learning about the consequences of infringements in the game. They are gaining a deeper understanding of why infringements lead to consequences such as a free pass for the opposing team. This knowledge is enhancing their strategic thinking and reinforcing the importance of playing fair and abiding by the rules.
We are incredibly proud of the commitment and progress demonstrated by our Grade 4, 5, and 6 students in their netball journey. Keep up the fantastic work, and let's continue to strengthen our skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship on the netball court!
