Alice In Wonderland

What a great night Wednesday was, the students have all been working so hard this term to prepare and were outstanding! Our Year 5/6 Students have made the production the focus of their learning throughout our Creativity Unit and are so proud of what they were able to achieve!

Etienne and Yiani as Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum

Being Tweedle Dee and Tweedledum was so good because it was really fun and exciting. We practised for nearly the whole term and had worked very hard for the production. Yiani and I got to put red dots on our faces over our foundation.

Mrs.B told Yiani and I that we can get a horn honker if we worked hard enough, it seemed like we did work hard enough, because we got it. On the production night we were really nervous and shaky, Yiani was worried we would get laughed at because of our hilarious costume. When it was our turn to get on stage, we walked on stage and we did our absolute best. Yaini and I were amazing and the crowd was cheering and laughing.

Rocco as a Wonderland Performer and Royal Card

The day we had the production was a lot of fun. All of St Anthony's were excited and ready for a good night. At the start of the production we all had to put makeup on and get into our costumes. At First we were nervous but when we got out on stage it was really fun. Everyone had a really good and joyful time. My favourite part was when the teachers had to do their dance. I liked it because it was really funny and all the teachers were up there dancing. The show went really smoothly and we were all proud of what we did at the end.

Fiona as Big Alice

So I was Alice, big deal. Yeah actually, it was. I found out I was Alice around 9 weeks ago and since then I have been counting down the number of sleeps until the big night. Two nights ago, I have to say, was the best night of my life! I really, really enjoyed learning lines and practising dance moves throughout rehearsals. However, none of this would have been possible without Mrs. Tracey Birthisel and all the supporting staff and families!

Hamilton as the Flamingo

When we found out that we were doing a performance on Alice in Wonderland we were all very excited to get started. Then the teachers told the grade 5 and 6 all the characters that we can play and we started to learn the lines of who we wanted to go for. We all tried very hard to study and learn our lines. We were all very happy once we auditioned because most of us got the roles we wanted. Then for the next 7 weeks we spent on perfecting our roles and working together to put together an amazing production. Last night we performed in front of 300 people and it all went smoothly. Everybody that I have asked in the audience said that it was amazing. I felt a bit nervous at the start but I got used to it.

Jadeen as a Royal Card

On the night of the production, I mostly enjoyed the “ Don’t Stop Me Now “ 5/6 class dance because it was nice for the 5/6’s performing together, especially since I was performing with my friends. It hyped my happiness, it just made me feel good. It was nice seeing the whole school  doing a performance and seeing how much they had improved since the first practice together. Everyone did their best.  The whole night was absolutely nerve- wracking but fun. It was my most enjoyable night ever.

Caleb as a Royal Card

Hi, I’m Caleb Tan and that was my experience in the Alice in Wonderland production!

I was one of the cards in  Alice in Wonderland, but how did I feel? Well at the end was very exhausting but it was exciting nonetheless. There were a lot of people in the production. So that means I was nervous at the start, but as I was slowly getting used to the crowd I was starting to enjoy it.

The card dance was a bit challenging to accomplish since the cards were made of cardboard, making it floppy. Both the first and second whole school dance was also very hard to dance to. Considering that there are over 100 students dancing to the same song.

Bianka as a Wonderland Performer

I loved how we all finally got to gather together for a performance because since covid we haven't been able to do any performances. I also loved that everyone was involved and I'm so happy that the play turned out so brilliantly!! Everyone put so much effort into the play and I loved that everyone had so much fun and I loved that we all got to decide what we would like to be in the performance.
