End of Term Update

Dear Wonderful Parents and Carers,

A short newsletter this week to mark the end of an absolutely fantastic Term at St Anthony's Primary School.

We have accomplished so much this Term, we're not sure where to begin.  We have welcomed our 2023 Prep students in for a number of days to get to know our school, including a recent Teddy Bear picnic! Our wonderful Preps celebrated 100 days of school. What an achievement!

Our Year 4 students were reverent in making their Sacrament of First Eucharist, which was a celebration for both our school and Parish Community.

Students represented St Anthony's with distinction all term, whether at school or out and about. A range of our students checkmated their way through the schools Chess competition while others ran and jumped during our Zone Athletics Carnival.

'R U Ok Day' was marked at our school with a focus on acts of kindness,  which was not difficult for our cohort of considerate and warm students.

CBCA Book Week saw a number of authors visit our school and speak to students in all year levels and our Book Fair was not only enjoyable but raised valuable funds to purchase educational supplies.   We had visits from some amazing authors too!

In the classroom students have continued to work diligently across the curriculum. This has included many different topics in Mathematics, Reading, Writing, Religion and more!

This leads us to our Integrated focus for this Term; Dance, Music and Drama, and the absolutely brilliant celebration of these concepts in our whole school production of Alice in Wonderland.

Helmed by our amazing director Tracey Birthisel, with the assistance of Luisa Henderson, we were so very proud of the acting and dance moves shown by all students. The atmosphere at the Glen Eira Town Hall was unbelievable, and celebrating with our entire community was the best possible way to finish off our term!  Photos are still being collected and collated and as soon as we have them all we will be making them available to families.

As the holidays approach it is time to take a deep breath before our final term for the year. We know we will have much more exciting classroom content to share and fun activities to enjoy together.

Please remember that students will return to school dressed in full Summer uniform and hats must be worn when outside.  No hat, no play policy will be reintroduced next term, .

We wish all of our families a safe, relaxing and enjoyable two weeks of school holidays. Term 4 commences on Monday, 3rd October.

All the very best and see you all soon!
