School Review

Every four years, Victorian governments schools undertake a comprehensive school review. The review is a process designed to improve learning outcomes, promote excellence across the curriculum and enhance the health and wellbeing of students.

The outcome of the process is a School Review Report that informs school practice and guides planning. "It celebrates progress and acknowledges key challenges. It identifies specific opportunities to strengthen the school’s instructional core: student voice, agency and leadership, curriculum content and teaching practice."

The report is a document that will guide the school and provide direction for the principal and staff to improve learning and teaching in the school. It is based on a review of current school data, classroom observations, and interviews with members of the school community.

The panel made a conscious decision to encourage as much community input as possible and we have held discussions and requested input from students, teachers, and parents at all levels of the school.

The review process ensures that the priorities for the next School Strategic Plan are agreed upon, evidence-based and documented. These include goals, targets and key improvement strategies to enable us to continually improve and monitor how we are going over the next four years.

Thank-you to Meredith for her hard work in preparing for the review, the students, teachers, and parents who have provided us with invaluable feedback on both of strengths and areas for improvement, and the external members of the review panel who have been working with Meredith and myself.

Templestowe District Athletics Competition

Congratulations to all our students who participated in the Templestowe District Athletics Competition yesterday. There were a number of individual highlights and we thrived in the chaos of the back-and-forth shuttle relay.

The next competition for those who progressed is the Manningham Division Athletics Competition on Thursday October 6.

Have A Go

Wow, did our students Have A Go last Friday night! We knew we had some talented performers at our school, but we were blown away by the standard of the performances.

Well done to everyone who took the stage. It takes a lot of courage to stand up and perform in front of an audience and you were all true stars. We loved every minute of the show.

A massive thank you to Ali for organising the night, Meredith for MCing, our judges Anna and Noddy, Gavin and Cameron for making sure our sound and lighting ran smoothly, and everyone else who was involved in the planning and running of the event.

Enjoy your weekend,
