Staff Professional Learning Day

On Monday 15 August, whilst the students enjoyed an extra-long-weekend, the staff met with Mr Byrne to have input into our newly devised Evangelisation Plan.  We were then guided through a Eucharistic celebration as Fra Oscar explained parts of the Mass for staff, as we celebrated the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The remainder of the day was spent with Dr Pina Ford as she presented two interesting and thought-provoking sessions titled, “Mary, bearer of the Light.

In dark and precarious times, Mary of Nazareth courageously walked an unknown path and brought the Light into the world”. We sincerely thank Pina for her passionate and enlightening presentation.  The day finished with varied creative and relaxing activities that helped staff summarise the day for themselves and find some inner peace.

Year 9 Mass

The Year 9 students gathered for Mass in the Trinity Chapel on Tuesday.  Fra Oscar challenged our young men to step up and be thankful for all their blessings, especially their parents and family.  A special thank you to all students who had a specific role during the Mass, and to our Trinity parents who continue to support their sons in this eucharistic celebration.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion - 2023

If your son is in Year 11 and would like to apply to be an Extraordinary Minister for 2023, applications are open.  Please have him collect an application form from Campus Ministry.  Training will take place in Term 4, on Tuesday 11 October from 1:00 – 4:00pm in the College Library.

Year 8 Quest Retreat

Next Friday, after having to reschedule due to Covid, the Year 8 students finally have the opportunity to experience their Quest Retreat.  A big thank you to Miss Claire Wilson for preparing the Year 12 Cadre and the Year 11 Peer Ministers.  As the Quest Coordinator, her role requires a great deal of preparation and patience during this strange year of Covid.  Thank you to all our parents who continually support this very special and unique retreat.

Blessed Edmund Rice Mass

Today, we finally had the opportunity to celebrate the life of Blessed Edmund Rice. Beginning with a full College Mass in the Trinity Sport Centre, we were finally able to share in a Eucharistic celebration.  The Extraordinary Minsters and many young men from the Junior and Senior School are to be commended for the reverent and enthusiastic assistance with this Mass.  A special thank you to Fra Oscar for this special Eucharistic celebration and to our 2019 Old Boy, Lachlan Sibosado, for sharing what it meant to him to receive a Catholic Education in an Edmund Rice school. We then continued with various activities to honour the authentic work of Edmund Rice and how we carry this work out in our College.  The Junior School Cake Stall at recess, the various PCG stalls, the head shave - lead by Year 12 student, Corey Loiacono and the Fun Run created an enjoyable day that celebrated our wonderful collection of talent, comradery that embodies a Catholic community in the Edmund Rice spirit.

Thank you to all families who have supported this special day that assists our communities in India who desperately require our financial support!
