National Carnival Wrap Up

Congratulations to Nash Styles (6W) and Sam Keys (7.8) who recently represented the State in the Under 12s footy team at the National Championships

Both Nash and Sam performed really well, they were apart of the first ever WA team to beat Victoria and came agonisingly close to winning the competition falling short of SA by 3points (after some horrible goal umpiring decisions against WA).

A silver medal and runners up was well earned, however you got the feeling there was unfinished business and next year they are out to win the competition for the first time ever.

The boys played well in all games; however, Sam played a blinder against SA and was one of the best players (if not the best on ground) and Nashi left his best to the last game against QLD and was voted best on ground by the team. All in all they played well, however it was more pleasing to see them create friendships that will last forever.

I believe Nash was the youngest in the whole boy’s competition so hopefully he will be back next year as an experienced campaigner when the competition moves to regional NSW!

Thank you to Travis Styles for this write up.
