Measurement and Geometry
How do you measure a giant's foot? Answer = Very carefully!

The Year 1/2 have been learning all about subtraction and solving problems using many strategies such as counting back using a number line.

We have also been learning about measurement and geometry:  area (how much space a 2D shape takes up) and length (a measurement of something from end to end).

One of the activities involved the students exploring and investigating the length and area of a giant's foot using hands-on materials.

Religious Education

The Good Samaritan
We look after one another
The Good Samaritan
We look after one another

Throughout the term, the Year 1/2s have been learning about Stewardship of Creation. They have explored the Good Samaritan story and the message God/Jesus is teaching us.  The students did this through a mime role play. Through this activity, the students could make personal connections with the story and how they can be good stewards of creation by looking after each other and respecting each other.
