Goodbye Mr Twomey

....and Daisy

Farwell Mr Twomey

On behalf of the school community, we would like to thank Mr Steve Twomey, who has been our school principal for the last twelve years.

Steve has enabled our school community to flourish over this time. He has been instrumental in establishing new ways of supporting student wellbeing and will put aside the 'job of principals' to listen to the young students who have required support.  He has led our HEART values, which have become embedded in our school culture.

Steve has seen opportunities for staff growth through the provision of professional development, such as Challenging Learning, realising that PD for staff is not just a day here and there but an ongoing journey that we take together, always with the belief that what we do promotes the best learning opportunities for the children in our care.

Steve has placed his trust in his staff. He has allowed us to investigate new ways of implementing curriculum and speaks about the importance of taking risks and trialling new approaches. He encourages this, not just for the staff but for the students.

Steve believes in partnerships. He has strengthened our community links with the development of the Holy Family Community Hub. He has encouraged connections with our local kindergartens, fostering community service for the older children in our school.

He was one of the first principals to actively encourage "Dogs in School," and as a result, Daisy has been a valued part of the school for the past eight years. She, too, will be missed - you can never underestimate the joy and support of a 4-legged friend.

Steve, we thank you for your contributions to Holy Family school and the community and wish you all the best for the future.

Your staff.

Goodbye Steve and Daisy. We will miss you.

Prayer for Steve

Lord, here Steve stands with a new horizon ahead of him.                                                                       He knows that he is entering a later phase of life,

yet feels so much the same inside.

Help him to seize each sunrise and fully live each day.

May he be guided by You and walk into this new landscape

                                                              with hope and confidence.

May he engage with the beauty of creation and connect

with the passions, hopes and dreams

                                                               he had when young.

Our prayer for Steve is not to leave anything behind

but to walk forwards into all he can be, all he can enjoy, and all he can give.

On this new page, The next chapter of his life - Shared with You.

                                                                                  Amen
