Creative Arts Installation
The Arts are such an important component of the Victorian Curriculum and enable students to develop their creative and expressive capabilities.
On Thursday 8th September our inaugural Creative Arts Installation took place in our school hall from 4.00 - 5.00pm. This wonderful event showcased many of our talented students in the areas of Music, Dance and Performing Arts, German, Visual Art, Lego and Chess. All members of the Rangeview community were invited to wander through the various displays and performances taking place in the hall and enjoy the creativity and flair of our students.
I would like to congratulate Deirdree Geilings and Megan Campbell for your vision and preparation for this highly successful evening. I would also like thank Noel Jones Mitcham for providing the coffee van. I saw may coffees and hot chocolates being enjoyed on the evening. And of course, a huge thank you to our students that took part in the evening.
Please enjoy some of the fabulous photos from the evening.
Before and After School Student Supervision
All schools have a legal duty of care to ensure the safety of their students. At no time can children be left unattended in the playground without adult supervision. School playgrounds are supervised by staff from 8.45am each morning and until 3.45pm in the afternoon. Prior to this time and after this time, supervision is not available and we ask that children are not left in the playground unattended at any time.
Over the past few weeks we have observed some students arriving at school without supervision very early. We ask that for the safety of your child, this does not occur.
OSH Club is the Outside School Hours Care service available at Rangeview Primary School. This service is available from 7.00am until 8.45am each school morning and from 3.30pm until 6.00pm each weekday evening. Bookings can be made by calling 1300395735 or by going to the website oshclub.com.au.
Student Mobile Phones
You may have recently seen in the media much discussion regarding mobile phones in schools. This media attention was in relation to New South Wales. In Victoria, student mobile phones have not been allowed in schools since 2019.
In accordance with the Department of Education Mobile Phones – Student Use Policy issued by the Minister for Education, personal student mobile phones must not be used while on-site at Rangeview Primary School during school hours, including lunchtime and recess. Students are encouraged not to bring mobile phones and smart watches to school unless absolutely necessary.
Where students bring a mobile phone to school or any other device with internet connectivity, Rangeview Primary School will provide secure storage and students are required to store their phones and devices by handing them into the school administration office to be placed in a lockable cupboard before school. The devices can then be collected from the office after the 3.30pm school bell.
School Holidays
The school holidays commence on Monday 19th September until Friday 30th September.
The final day of Term 3 is Friday 16th September (Billy Cart and Footy Colours Day) and students will be dismissed from school at 2.30pm on this day. The first day of Term 4 is Monday 3rd October.
I would like to wish everyone a fabulous holiday break and look forward to seeing you all in Term 4.
