Ballarat Young Authors’ Program

A big congratulations to the 21 Year 4/5 students who have been selected to participate in this year’s Ballarat Young Authors’ Program. 

 

The Ballarat Young Authors’ Program has been developed by the Gifted and Talented Network and has been created to inspire our talented writers and provide them with the opportunity to mix with other like-minded students from other schools.

 

Approximately 90 students from Grades 4 and 5 will participate in this wonderful opportunity from various schools in and around Ballarat.

 

The program launch occurred last Thursday after school at the Mt. Rowan College auditorium.  Next term, the students will have the opportunity to participate in three workshop days. We look forward to hearing from our Young Authors throughout the coming months and wish them all the very best for their participation in this exciting opportunity.

Parent Teacher Interviews

Bookings for parent teacher interviews opened via Compass last week and will close next week on June 20th at 12 Noon.  

 

The dates for interviews are Wednesday, June 21st (1:30-6 pm) and Thursday, June 22nd (4-6 pm).

 

Please note that part time staff booking availability may vary- please refer to your Compass portal for further details regarding availability.

Half-Year Reports

 

Reports will be available on Compass from 4pm on Friday, June 16th.    

 

Important Dates:

  • Monday June 5th- Bookings open on Compass for Parent Teacher Interviews / 3 Way Conversations.
  • Friday June 16th- Reports made available to parents via Compass
  • Tuesday June 20th- Bookings close for Parent Teacher Interviews / 3 Way Conversations at 12 Noon
  • Wednesday June 21st - Parent Teacher Interviews / 3 Way Conversations 1.30pm - 6pm (1pm dismissal for students)
  • Thursday June 22nd - Parent Teacher Interviews / 3 Way Conversations 4pm - 6pm

Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge

Don’t forget to sign up for the Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge!                                       

Teachers have provided students with their log-in details on a sticker that has been stuck in the home reading diary/student diary. Please see your child’s classroom teacher if you have any queries about logging in, or you can’t find the log in details.

 

Steps to follow:

  1. Go to the Challenge application.                                 
  2. Select the School/Student button.
  3. Select the VPRC login option.
  4. Enter your username and password.
  5. Select Login.

Well done to all students who have commenced the Premier’s Reading Challenge.  We have a number of students who are well on their way and we also have many students who have submitted book reviews- well done!
